National LCV Endorses two Arizona Candidates
Our friends in D.C. have endorsed two candidates in the last week from Arizona, both women have been consistently endorsed by AZLCV in the past when they were running for Arizona State Legislature, now we are happy to continue the trend of our state environmental champions moving on to represent Arizona in Washington (though of course we will miss Ann's strong conservation ethic and we already miss Gabrielle's)

Candidate Forum a Success
Our sister organization the Arizona League of Conservation Voters Education Fund co-hosted a candidate forum for Congressional District 1 candidates on June 8th in Camp Verde. Attendance was fantastic with nearly 100 voters and seven of the candidates participating. We applaud the candidates who attended for their articulation, their frankness and their willingness to tell voters where they stand. We are saddened by those candidates who did not confirm attendance and deeply saddened that one of the front-running candidates, Sydney Hay, cancelled her attendance at the last moment.
Stay tuned as we will be posting the audio and video of the forum on this website.

Solar projects hang on future of tax credit
In Arizona, where the sun shines more than 300 days a year, utilities are under a state mandate to generate 15 percent of their electricity needs from renewable sources by 2025. They say solar is key to meeting their goals.
